The forest is their home. It's their shelter, their larder. They live in symbiosis with nature, ensuring its renewal through the seeds and acorns they naturally disperse, one way or another.

We humans don't respect this forest. We destroy it for financial gain (building new neighborhoods, firewood, grazing land, etc.) thinking that it is infinitely renewable, without realizing that we have already exhausted it and deprived so many living beings of their homes! We're also destroying the forest because we want to keep the "ugly beasts" who live there and are its rightful owners away from our own homes.

When you cut down a tree simply because it's annoying, or when you see entire tracts of land cut white for whatever purpose, are you aware of the impact these felling operations have on the fauna, flora and water of these living environments? Have you ever thought, for a moment, that if it were your own house that was razed to the ground on a whim, or for the purpose of exploiting your land, that you'd be caught unprepared?

It took me a few years of living in my little wooded corner to really realize the negative impact man has on his environment. To see it with my own eyes, to experience it, to feel it. To experience it through the people I meet outside the protective walls of my home. It's because I'm here, in direct connection with the nature I love so much, that I've chosen to make reforestation of the planet my life's mission, through the reproduction of works of art.
