Interpretation of the work by the artist:
This work is a portrait of a woman from Polynesia represented between two cultures, traditional Polynesian culture and Western culture. It also highlights femininity, a certain strength, power and feminine confidence. Nature is represented there by the crown of flowers, a flower on the left side of the work and the blue of the background which means the sea, the lagoon.
The title of the work is the name of an islet or motu located near the island of Raiatea, NAO NAO.
Nao Nao - Colin
She likes to mix both portraiture and figurative nature with mixtures of fluid paintings, whose colors are borrowed from nature as the different shades of blue, ochre, the color hers ... in a spontaneous and uncontrolled. Sometimes, she adds to this association, calligraphy that accentuates the link in her paintings between the past and the words of the present.
